For those of you who don’t know, I’m a bit of a Jane Austen freak. I know that’s pretty typical of girls who read, but I can’t help it. For my 25th birthday my husband surprised me with a trip to Chawton and Bath, UK to visit Jane Austen-y things. I have mugs and shirts and so many things with Jane Austen quotes on them. I have multiple copies of every book.
January 28, 2013 is the 200-year anniversary of Pride and Prejudice being published. I would love to celebrate this with my own published work, but since that dream hasn’t happened yet, how about a reading marathon?
Join me if you would like. I will be spending the day reading Pride and Prejudice, finishing off with watching the movie (Keira Knightley version since it’s shorter, maybe I’ll do the BBC six-hour version later in the week). Who’s up for a read-a-thon of only one book? If you finish early, why not read something else of Jane Austen’s?
I love it! And I’m totally with you. ๐
Awesome.
love it too! I’m in too.
Yay!
This is awesome! I was watching the Colin version in German just this week and did not even realize the anniversary! When do we start? Btw, I did the Bath trip a few years ago totally worth it!
Yay Katie! Go for it whenever you’re ready!
I spent the day randomly reading through blog hop participants’ sites. Today I’m still doing it. Glad so many including yourself have chosen to celebrate in this way.
It was very relaxing and refreshing. I’m so glad I did it to!
While it wasn’t Austen, I did set a goal of reading a book cover to cover this week… And I did it. Oh my goodness, next time I’m not going to choose a scary murder mystery… ๐ hope you are well, Friend!
Those ones keep me up at night out of terror!
